October Scarecrows, Fall Fun & Recipes
October 5 2022, posted by Gina
One of our favorite things about being in Madison, Mississippi is the annual Scarecrow Contest open to businesses. We look forward to participating every year and this year we created a fun flower-child scarecrow. Everything about her says ‘fall fun’ and we invite you to take a snapshot with her in front of our shop. She will be out the whole month of October, so be sure to check her out when you drive by or when to you stop in to shop with us.
We would love to have you vote for our scarecrow in the contest!
To vote, go to the Madison the City Facebook page, then go to the post of our scarecrow and ‘like’ it! The scarecrow with the most likes wins the contest.
It’s so fun to drive around town looking at all the different scarecrows and to see how very creative people are.
Now that the first slight chill has made its way to our neck of the woods, we can’t help but think about all the holidays coming our way starting with Halloween. Our customers have been buying Halloween décor since July, which gives you an idea about how this holiday has grown in terms of decorating. We enjoyed putting these pumpkin wreaths together because they are so fun and happy. The great thing about these wreaths is that they can be used all year long with a quick change of the adornments. We also recently received a new shipment of live plants and love how these gorgeous crotons mix so well with fall décor.
In the fall everyone starts making warm soups, hearty chili, comforting casseroles and decadent baked goods. We love cooking, entertaining and sharing recipes. We sell delicious jams, mustards, honeys and other condiments and spices that help make entertaining easy. Did you know that we serve all kinds of delicious food at our Floral Design Workshops? You’ll find all of the recipes we’ve made for the Workshops and other events here on our website.
We had a great time creating the menu for our October 2022 Floral Design Workshop and we’re sharing the recipes with you. Enjoy!
The Chocolate Pecan Pumpkin Bread recipe (pictured above) makes two loaves. It’s great to make ahead and share one loaf with a friend.
